"Put one foot in front of the other . . . and soon you'll be walking 'cross the floor!
Put one foot in front of the other . . . and soon you'll be walking out the door!"
-Rudolph Movie Song (Hokey, I know, but it is what I thought of)
I am so happy I got to see Nora walk for the first time. She was standing near the ottoman in the media room, and she caught glimps of Tim's phone charger. And then . . . . she just started walking. Nora walked all the way over to the couch.
When she made it, she looked at me. Of course I was smiling, but then I screamed. Nora was so cute. She covered her mouth and screamed too. She looked as if she were saying "OMG! I did it!" Well, after that there was no stopping her. She has been practicing and making improvements constantly. :D
This is so exciting, but also VERY eye opening. My baby is growing up so fast! Nora is developing such a great personality. She is fun, funny, very social, adventurous, and a little silly. We are always laughing and my moments with her are the absolute best parts of my days and nights. God is so good! Nora is a gift from above. :D

OOPA!!!!
Nora had a great time at Taverna Plaka, a Greek restaurant in Atlanta. Happy Birthday Mr. Brian. It was great meeting you and your wife. We can't wait to meet Leah.
5 Reasons Why Nora LOVED Taverna Plaka:
1. They throw napkins all over. OOPA!
2. There is loud music. OOPA!
3. There is dancing (on the tables) and there are belly dancers. OOPA!
4. Great food and flaming, yes, flaming cheese. OOPA!
5. Did we already say there is dancing? OOPA!

What You Talkin' Bout Nora?
Everyone wants to know what words Nora is saying these days. Well, here are some words and phrases we have heard.
The Obvious:
1. "Mama" 2. "Dada" 3. "Hi" 4. "Bye" 5. "No" 6. "Yes"
Words:
1. "Up" 2. "Down" 3. "Eye" 5. "Tree" 6. "Lincoln" 7. "Stop"
8. "Dog" 9. "Duck" 10. "Quack" 11. "Teeth" 12. "Shoe" 13. "Ear"
Funny Story: Nora has been saying "segoy" and we have no idea what it means. REcently Tim, Bubba, Jackie, and I have been using the word to be whatever we want, so in the middle of sentences we will substitute a word for "Segoy". It's quite fun. :D
Congrats: Bubba has solved the mystery. Segoy is "It's good". I would have never guessed that is what she ius saying, but By Golly I think he is right!
Phrases:
1. "Here ya go!" 2. "I got it!" 3. "See!" 4. "Love you!" 5. "Thank you"
Things we are not sure about yet . . . It could be mommy an daddy's imaginations . . .
1. "Is that me?" 2. "Let me see."
3. "I'd like to dine alfresco tonight" :) Just kidding :) (I would faint.)
Nora is a chatty Cathy . . . Her middle name is Gabby (Gabrielle) for a reason! In these pics, if her mouth is open . . . she's talking about something.

Let's Play Dress Up
First Kid's Meal!
Another Ear Infection & Pink Eye
Not again! We have just had ear infections #4 and #5. Infection #4 was coupled with pink eye. We now have to meet with the ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) doctor to discuss Nora getting tubes put in her ears. As much as we don't want her to have to get tubes, we would rather that than her continue to get sick what seems like EVERY month. We just hate to see our baby not feeling her best.
STILL CATCHING UP . . .
I guess this is what I get for falling behind!
FEBRUARY
-Here's the family
I just like this picture of us. It was taken at Arianna's 2nd birthday party! Happy birthday Girlie!

-HAPPY BIRTHDAY NORA!
February 11, 2009 was Nora's 1st birthday. We celebrated her birthday on the 7th. She had a great cupcake party! Here are some pictures. Thanks every one for helping make Nora's birthday party special.
Highlights:
Of course Nora was the STAR of the day. She looked precious from head to toe. She wore a beautiful smocked dress with a cupcake and her name embroidered on it. Many people say that 1 year olds have no idea what is going on, but I believe Nora new it was her time to shine. As soon as guests started to arrive, Nora began to show her stuff on her car. I knew my baby was a ham, but she really proved it this day. When it was time to eat her cake, Nora did not hesitate to DIVE in. WOW! What a mess, but oh so cute. It's hard to believe. . . our cupcake is one. (God is good!)
Nora was especially glad to see Aunt Nesi and Rebekah drive up from Orlando. Thanks guys!

So much to catch up on!!!
Where do I start? . . . I have literally looked at this site time and time again and I have been avoiding spending the time it will take me to catch up on everything that has happened since NOVEMBER. Yes, November. . . I know it is March, but hey, I've been doing my best. :D
Let's take it month by month . . .DECEMBER
-Oh No She Didn't!
FUNNY! Nora wore her new suit to Bible study only to discover Laine has the same one. They were so cute together. We decided to take a picture.

-Decking the Halls
Nana, Poppa, Maw-Maw, and Paw-Paw helped us put up our Christmas trees. Nora had a great time looking at the lights. She had her own little tree in her room. her ornaments were little Sesame Street books that sang when you pressed a button. Every night before bed Nora had to listen to at least 3 books. She got to the point where she pointed to the Christmas trees and said "tee." Aaahh! How cute!?!

-A Family Trip
We visited the Georgia Aquarium with Mama J and cousin Preston. It was loads of fun. Tim and I were unsure as to how Nora would react, but she LOVED it. Nora really enjoyed looking at the fish.
The highlight: Seeing a man in scuba gear cleaning the tanks. Nora pointed and yelled to get his attention. The man finally waved at Nora, who then smiled an gigantic smile. What fun!

-Christmas with Mama J
We celebrated Christmas twice. The weekend before the actual holiday we went to celebrate with Mama J, Aunt Mandy, Uncle Nick, and Cousin Preston. Nora received her first baby doll, a doll stroller, a push car, and several gorgeous outfits. Not bad at all for the week before Christmas. I guess Santa really does take care of really good little girls. :D (Nora really loved her baby doll. Every time she held her, she would MAKE Tim and I kiss the doll. I wonder if that's what she feels we did to her. The stroller also got Nora a little bit closer to walking. We're holding our breath. . . Any day now and she'll take that first step.)

-Our Road Trip To Louisiana
We drove to Louisiana for Christmas. Nora did fine and basically slept the entire way there. We were pleasantly surprised since we had no idea of what to expect. When we arrived at Nana and Poppa's house there were lights everywhere. We felt as if we had entered a "winter wonderland."
Nora woke up that morning to a new toy car, a light-up mirror that sings, a shopping cart, her first holiday Barbie, a white fur coat with matching hat, and several books. With all the toys from family, Tim and I were able to buy the necessities. (ie. pajamas, diapers, onesies, etc.)
Nora's Favorite Thing:
The light up mirror. Nora could not and still cannot get enough of the lights, the music and the fun of the mirror. Tim and I even catch ourselves singing them sometimes. That wiggle song is quite catchy :D We have come to realize that Nora is a dancing machine! More on that to come.
